A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling mistake. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam email messages, but this issue can be resolved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also vital to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound email messages to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you have a web hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel includes quite a lot of features, but it is exceptionally user-friendly, so configuring a catch-all mailbox takes just a mouse click. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be enumerated in this section alphabetically and you will just have to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the particular address. Our system will alert you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and takes one more click on the same button.
